Bushwick Book Club celebrates ALOUD: Voices From The Nuyorican Café

The literature-inspired performance series and podcast, Bushwick Book Club presents a performance of new songs by  local songwriters inspired by poems in the seminal anthology from the 1990's explosion of spoken word poetry ALOUD: Voices from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe.   The show is hosted by poet Bob Holman who co-edited the book with poet and NPC founder Miguel Algarin.  The event features new, poetry-inspired offerings from songwriters and creatives of all kinds (including, chefs!).  Come celebrate this important moment and lasting movement in American poetry and LES New York City culture with Bushwick Book Club the only way they know how -- with new music, art and snacks inspired by the written (and spoken) word!
